ACCOUNTING AND TAX PRACTICE

THE FIRM

Has successfully completed a "Quality Review" of its accounting and auditing practices by other AICPA sanctioned CPA firms and received a “totally compliant” opinion on it’s accounting and auditing practices. This Peer Review was administered by the American Institute of CPA's in conjunction with local CPA societies. Additionally, shareholders and professional staff are required to participate in continuing professional education training to the extent of 80 hours of education credits bi-annually in all fields of endeavor.

GARY S. STEVENS, CPA

Professional, Shareholder in firm, with experience in public accounting since 1978.  Client concentrations are in the areas of professional service organizations, construction, start-up companies, non-profit entities, and security companies.  Working closely with clients on the entity and individual levels to evaluate tax planning alternatives to effectively minimize taxation.  Evaluate sales and acquisitions of businesses and real estate and assist in valuations thereof.  Graduated from Bentley University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.  Received a Masters of Taxation degree from the Bentley University Graduate School.

MICHAEL J. CICCONE, CPA

Professional, Shareholder, with experience in public accounting with concentrations in the professional services, retail and wholesale sales, real estate and construction industries along with experience in non-profit entities and the taxation of US non-residents in the US. Experience in foreign taxpayers acquiring individual identification numbers and related filings.  Shareholder in the firm since 1978.  Tax planning at the individual and "closely held" corporate level.  BS in Accounting and MS in Taxation at Bentley University.  Apprenticeship served at Tofias, Fleishmann, Shapiro & Co., P.C. of Cambridge, Massachusetts.  Feature speaker at various tax seminars and local television programs on tax issues, organization of in-house tax training seminars for staff and local certified public accountants.

MARK M. CICCONE, CPA

Professional in the firm since 2014 with experience in public accounting since 2006.  Eight years of diverse tax experiences at Ernst and Young with a focus on International Tax Services.  Individual Taxpayer Identification Number ("ITIN") acceptance agent since 2015.  BS in Accounting and Finance from Boston College.  MS in Taxation from Northeastern University.

SAMANTHA STEVENS, CPA

Professional in the firm since 2019. Prior to that, worked for 10 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers primarily within the asset management industry serving private equity, venture capital and real estate clients. Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance as well as Masters of Science in Accounting both from Northeastern University.

LONNIE MCGINNIS, CPA

Professional in the firm since 2018 with 33 years experience in public accounting.  Full range of accounting and tax experience with a focus on small business tax, accounting and consulting.  Proficient in all small business accounting software.  CPA since 1991.  BS in Business Administration from Eastern Nazarene College.

ALEXANDRA TKACH, ACCOUNTANT

Professional in the firm since 2006 with experience in public accounting since 1999.  Servicing the accounting and tax needs of individuals, trusts and privately held businesses across a variety of industries.  Proficient in QuickBooks and regularly advise clients to get the most from this software and achieve accurate financial reporting.  BS in accounting from Emmanuel College.

ACCOUNTING AND PARA-PROFESSIONAL STAFF -

Senior and staff accountants typically have a BS in accounting; participation in tax seminars and if necessary, CPA review courses. Staff Accountants are utilized, as required, under the direct supervision of Partners.

Para-Professional staff has extensive business, bookkeeping and accounting experience.

CLERICAL STAFF -

Primarily focusing on word processing, computer information systems, client general ledger processing and client communications.

IN GENERAL -

Accounting fees are based upon the expenditure of professional time at established standard hourly rates of shareholders at $330 to $375 per hour. Accounting staff at $165 to $275 per hour plus support and administrative staff billed at proportionally lower rates and out-of-pocket expenses.  Periodically, special assignments may require non-standard rates as established prior to the engagement.  Court appearances are billed at $395 per hour.  All work will be discussed and the budget established prior to execution of the service.

Our practice is shaped around a full service concept.  We offer skills not only in accounting, auditing, and tax return preparation, but also in financial planning, management consulting and corporate/individual tax planning.  All of these services are furnished directly on a one-on-one basis providing you with straightforward, current business advice.
